Hey mom, thanks for the message I needed that and I loved it! You're awesome. Thanks for the message and the letter and the pictures. I am still in Villa Soldati in Los Monoblock and with Elder Micanquer. Elder Thurgood already has his new comp, so we moved back to the big edificio (building). I'm not sure if we call it edificio in English too. haha. I am having troubles speaking English a lot. haha. Here it was really hot for a couple of days and the humidity was killing us and then it rained hail way big balls of hail and now we are freezing cause the humidity is gone. haha freaking Buenos Aires haha.
I want to focus on doing contacts through service. I feel like doing service would be a great idea! Today don't know whats wrong but I don't know what to say in my email. I am going to clean more than I ever have in the house today so we can live in more style haha! to invite the spirit really and I sleep better with cleanliness. That farewell seems like it was awesome and I can't believe everyone is like huge now. The only ones I remember is Dixie, Thalers, and Fowlers, and Jackie and Doug and Sherrie. haha que loco. I don't know what to say mom I love you and hope you have a good week! Don't get in trouble for being too occupied with other things at work! I know you already know that though :D I will be here another 6 weeks. Oct. 7 I leave I'm sure. I have my birthday this transfer haha how awesome huh! already showed up. I wish I could have gone to the despedida of the elders and sisters cause Elder Espinoza went home this transfer. Elder Ochoa went early cause he was entering school and hes 27 years old so he was tryin to get a start on school now. The president will allow you to leave early to enter schools that start if it's really close to your termination date. I love ya mom and hope you enjoy the season up there of school and having 2 seniors haha and all your kids have either passed or are in high school now haha hey at least I passed! :D! haha another question. Are prices up there sky rocketing too? here is terrible for Argentines it's like 12 pesos to the dollar and when I got here it was 5 to the dollar. Things are tough here haha! anyways mom I love ya have a great week and thanks for your prayers I am getting up I just need to excercise now! best I start now eh!

Things here are good. I got put with another companion from Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Elder Thurgood. He is awesome cause he likes hunting and country and all the same stuff and we get along great. We have transfers this next Monday so I might be leaving the area but who knows? I don't know what I want. haha. This week has been a really tough week. We dropped all of our investigators because they weren't getting anywhere and so we will leave them for future Elders. We are trying to find more people to teach but this week was a long week of what seems like a waste of time. We worked but we weren't able to find any members to help us and so we have been feeling really tired at the end of each day of working but not seeing any fruits of the work yet. We have hopes that this week we will explode with investigators and hopefully those who will progress and be baptized. In my area we have only Argentine people (usually in the city there are lots of Peruvians and Paraguayos and Bolivians and others but the Argentines are tough cause they have a lot of Italian in them, haha.)
I feel like we are like Alma in the city before he went back and met with Amulek when he was rejected by all the city and was told by the Lord to go back and we are able to see all the miracles that happened there with them. I hope this week will be like that when we go back to see miracles according to our work and diligence. Today I was able to strengthen my testimony by reading "Manual 2" it's a church manual and it helped me to realize that really this is a house of order (the Church) . If we follow things the way the Lord puts them then things work out a lot better cause I have realized I have been in other wards when the people don't do their calling and someone has to make up for it and things don't flow as good, When I am home I will be sure to always magnify my calling and give my all to the Lord, President Henry B Eyring says that this is the secret to happiness!
Have a great week and enjoy the last week of summer break.

This week is his year mark!!

A year ago on the 11th Elder Wikstrom had his farewell. He entered the MTC on the 14th. This year has gone by fast! I am thankful that it didn't drag. Here's this weeks email.

Everything's great. I sent some pics of my last area I hope that you like.
This week has been a fast one. We were very busy and had lots of things to do. Yesterday we were supposed to have a baptism but Johnny didn't come so he couldn't get baptized. We went to his house yesterday in the evening after church to see what happened and he wasn't there. His mom said it's something that he wants but he stayed up till 4 in the morning the night before because his family came to visit and he didn't wake up. Today we are going to go by to talk to him and see if this is something that he really wants to follow through with. Our district had planned 4 baptisms this week. Ours and the zone leaders fell through cause of other causes but hopefully this next week everything will turn out the way it needs to be. Surely it will cause its the work of the Lord, we just have to put our part in and no worries. This week I am hopeful to find more investigators. Right now in this moment we don't really have anyone. I was thinking of something our Mission President was saying and he said that our mission has a lot bigger of a capacity than we are getting out of it. He was relating the numbers from last year with this moment and we have improved in everything but we lowered like .1 in baptisms, he was talking about his business he had, that if we're not gaining were losing and what is there? We have the potential to be better and that makes me feel more urgency.
The other day as I was reading the Libro de Mormon in 1 Nephi 12:19, and as I read this verse it occurred to me that one of the main points of the Book of Mormon is based on Obedience. Those who obeyed the Lord always turned out to be the winners and live on, (if not physically, eternally). Today for us we are still battling the same battle of good vs evil but for us its more in a spiritual sense. I thought that he who is not obedient to the Lord is giving himself up to the devil, like spiritual suicide. Today if we don't put on our armor we will be brought down by the devil, cause the devil doesn't have mercy, but he has no power over the Lord. We have to choose now who we serve or we´ll be chosen before we know it. We have to leave our pride and be humble with the Lord, because the Lord won't fight with us to have his presence in our lives. The Book of Mormon will help us find the protection we need and we will be able to come out on top of satan and all his temptations. Like in the vision of the tree of life, we are in a midst of darkness, and if we don't follow that rod then see ya man. That rod is the word of God and the fullness of his Gospel and word and work is in the Book of Mormon. We must have an eye single to the glory of God these days and help Him in his purpose of bringing to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. (Moses 1:39) We do that by preaching the Gospel by word and example, we must live what we preach. Follow the Commandments in this there is safety and peace (Hymn song: Keep the commandments). anyways that's something sweet I learned in my studies this week. Here's some more pictures of things in ¨Tina

Right now it's pretty nice weather here. A little cold but with a jacket it's nice. Today we have a zone activity planned in the soccer field of San Lorenzo and we will be cooking a bbq, I'm starvin like a marvin so that'll be good.
Yesterday I had the opportunity to confirm the lady in church with the holy ghost! it was pretty awesome! We are finding people that are ready to hear the gospel and that are following through with their commitments. I like working with the people here in Monoblock. I will send a picture of a side of my area, it's small but full of people! [He didn't send the picture]
This week I want to share about decisions. If you can picture with me a train in a switch yard and see all the tracks that are there but all lead to other parts of the world. This train is you and the tracks are all your decisions you can make. They all seem good from the start but it's impossible to see with the eye where each one leads to in the end. With one little move of 3 inches of a rail our track is changed and our course is different, For this we must choose wisely. There is a map to help us make such decisions. We must use this map to make decisions to guide us and keep us on the right track because further down the track there are more switches that we'll pass and we could get lost if we make one little wrong move. But if we use the map we will be able to arrive where we are trying to get to. This map is called the scriptures and the prophets, and personal revelation. Not just one but all 3. We must be diligent in following these guides to avoid decisions that will take us on another path in an instant, a path that may seem fun at first but the further and further we make it down the path we make other bad decisions and feel really lost and scared sometimes. Many don't realize that by small and simple means are great things brought to pass but I testify that by small and simple means great things are brought to pass. I, like all people, have taken the wrong track before but thanks to the Atonement of Jesus Christ I was able to be directed back to the right path. When we realize we've made a bad choice the best thing to do is correct it in the moment. It's easier to get on the right path if we're still not far from it, but the longer we wait and the farther we go the harder it gets to change and the longer it takes to get back on the path. if it weren't for Jesus Christ it would be impossible but he made it possible for everyone! Use his Atonement in your life to stay on the lighten path and the path that is right. Life is better like this. We can all experience his love as we take part of the Atonement. The mission is a place where I have experienced the power of his love and his forgiveness also. The joy is indescribable but real. Trust in your maps and remember that by small and simple means, great things are brought to pass!
Gotta leave now. I'm hungry. =D
